Colour tattoos in Phuket.
Custom colour tattoo work ranging from vivid realism to illustrative and decorative pieces.
Colour still needs structure.
A strong colour tattoo is not simply a design filled with as many colours as possible. The palette, outlines, dark values and areas of open skin all help the tattoo stay readable.
Reference images are useful for showing whether you want natural colour, a limited palette, muted tones or something bright and highly saturated. The colour palette can then be adapted to suit the design, placement and overall style of the tattoo.
Natural colour
Useful for animals, portraits and subjects where believable colour is part of the realism.
Limited palette
A smaller group of colours can create a more controlled, graphic or traditional look.
High saturation
Bright colour can create impact, but contrast and dark structure still matter.
Colour + black
Many successful colour pieces use black outlines or shadows to anchor the design.
Colour work from the studio.
These examples are selected because colour is a major part of the finished tattoo.
Sun and swimming matter after a fresh tattoo.
If you are getting tattooed during a Phuket holiday, plan the appointment around beach, pool and sun exposure. A fresh tattoo needs to be protected while it heals, so having the tattoo immediately before several days of swimming or intense sun is not ideal.
If your trip is short, let us know your Phuket travel dates when you enquire. We can help you choose a suitable time for your tattoo around the rest of your holiday plans.
Colour tattoo questions.
Do colour tattoos need black outlines?
Not always. Some designs use strong outlines, others rely on tonal contrast. The best structure depends on the style and reference.
Can you match colours from my reference?
The reference can guide the palette, but tattoo pigments and skin are different from a digital screen. The artist can advise on a practical colour approach.
Can I swim after getting a colour tattoo in Phuket?
Avoid swimming in pools or the sea while your fresh tattoo is healing. Follow your artist’s aftercare instructions and plan your swimming around the healing period.
Can colour be added to an old black tattoo?
Sometimes, but existing dark ink limits what new colour can achieve. Send photographs so the studio can assess the area.
Discuss a colour tattoo.
Send your references, preferred colour style, size and placement, and we can discuss what will work best for your tattoo.
